Rural Piped Water Supply
The 'Rural Piped Water Supply' project facilitates building of piped water supply in villages where 100% sanitation coverage has been achieved, under various schemes of the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department of Government of Odisha.
The project aims to ensure permanent drinking water security in rural areas.

ACTIVITIES
- Mobilising village community for participation in the implementation process
- Drilling borewell/digging sanitary wells/tapping perennial springs for sourcing water
- Setting up pumping system in wells, electrification through solar power or connection to the grid
- Construction of overhead water tank
- Laying of the distribution pipeline
- Providing three taps for each household
- Creation of the maintenance fund for meeting operational costs
- Building community capacities to plan, implement, operate, maintain and manage the piped water supply project
- Village institutions and local government convergence to facilitate ownership, operation and maintenance by village governments
