The ‘Community-driven Gravity Flow Piped Water Supply and Sanitation System to Rural Communities’ project was implemented to provide safe and potable water round-the-clock to five village communities in Gajapati district of Odisha.
The project aimed to improve the quality of life of rural community by an experiential learning of inclusion through increased access to water and sanitation infrastructure and hygiene awareness.

- Village Executive Committees, with equal number of women and men, constituted in all five villages under operation
- Fund mobilised for future operations and maintenance of the infrastructure
- All individual households receive piped water supply
- All families have toilets and bathing facilities
- Awareness raised for 450 village community members on causes of diseases, preventive measures and hygiene behaviour
- 130 school children learn about causes of water-borne diseases, environment cleanliness
- 87 young women learn about nutrition, childbirth, pregnancy cycle,and health considerations during pregnancy and child care
